Dr. Dawn DiRito, LCSW, Ed.D

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (L.C.S.W.) originally from Baltimore, Maryland.  I earned my Bachelors degree in Psychology, my Masters in Social work and ultimately my Doctorate in Counseling Psychology.  I have worked in the field of mental health and addictions, in both the hospital and private practice settings, since 1997.

In my time away from work I enjoy long-distance running, participating in several races in the Jacksonville area each year. I personally experience the benefits of exercise, along with a healthy diet, in reducing stress, boosting self-esteem, and improving physical and emotional well-being. I also firmly believe that it is crucial to reduce negative thoughts and learn to have a more positive outlook in order to move beyond daily stressors and mental health issues.

Taking the step to reach out and ask for help is not an easy task and therefore I consider it an honor when an individual, family, or couple decides to trust me with their most intimate concerns. Perhaps you need an outside party to listen and let you reflect and gain clarity. Or maybe you feel overwhelmed and need more direct assistance in coming up with a plan or solution to your concerns. Through my vast experience and my nature as an active listener, I can be a warm, supportive ear or be more assertive and help you create a specific plan for how to tackle the issues you are confronting.
